Breaking Up - Moving On

Getting beyond a break up is not easy, and it can be harder if you were the person that got broken up with. This is something that everyone goes through, and while it hurts, it is a reality of life for anyone.

Always remember that you will recover from the break up over time, and it's an important first step. Keep in mind that how hard or easy the heartache is depends on you and your attitude. One thing that will help in the beginning is staying away from your ex's friends.

Some people will give you the advice that the best thing to do is to remove everything from your life that will remind you of your ex. Personally, I disagree because I think that the more we try to remove memories, the more we will keep remembering.

Just take it easy and give yourself time, and don't be too hard on yourself either. Surely, you won't want obsess on everything, but at the same time you can't avoid every memory of the relationship.

If you are getting tired of people treating you differently, you have to stop sulking in front of them. Cry when you are alone, but try and become part of life again with your friends and go out.

You will move on and end up meeting someone right for you in the right time. Remember to give yourself time and that as it passes, so will your sadness.

What helped me the most when I was hurting was that I reminded myself that I'm not the only one going through this. Everyone deals with it at some point, and while it is hard, they move on and live life happily once again and you will too.
